CACHE Level 3 - Understand How To Set Up a Home-Based Childcare Service (CYPOP5)

This course prepare learners to work as home based child carers -nannies/childminders. As well as learning relevant aspects of childcare, this knowledge based course supports the development of policies and procedures relevant to registration and the basic business skills to set up a home based child care service. It is an ideal induction course for new nannies and childminders, or those with more experience who would like to gain a certificate for their work.
Course Structure: The course consists of one knowledge based unit with written assessments. 

Progression: This course forms part of the CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce. Learners have the option to progress onto the full Diploma on completion of this course if they wish.
Course Length: Learners have 8 weeks to complete the course - however learners can complete the course faster than this if they choose.

Delivery: Home Study (no classroom attendance will be required at all, study materials sent by email).

Assessments: All study materials are emailed to learners once they are enrolled on the course. Learners will be required to complete the written assessments associated with the course and then email these back to us by the 8 week deadline date.  (For learners without email we can post the study materials for an additional fee of £15, learners outside the UK should contact us for details of overseas postage charges.)

Support: All learners will have one to one support from their personal tutor available via phone/email.

Fees: Some learners (particularly childminders) may be able to gain bursaries from their local authority to cover most or all of the course fees- contact your local authority early years department to see if you are eligible (please contact us if you are unsure how to do this) .
Other learners will need to pay. The course costs £120 plus the £26 CACHE registration fee
